At our Ice Cream Social, Pat Doyle told us that she was going to a 3 day ESSEX chair event devoted to our Exchange students and the fabulous exchange program last weekend.
Mint Choc chip, vanilla, chocolate, and cookie dough Ice Cream, Ellen Sullivan's congo bars, chocolate chip cookies, coconut and more! Yummy treats made the evening even sweeter.
The Pinneys hosted. Jacqueline(will be a senior, aka 12th grade in Sept), Katie(will be a freshmen, 9th grade), Chris and Tom were all there. Guests included the other two host families:

We gave a tour of our newly renovated home, chatted, and introduced ourselves. Those that hadn't met before got to know each other. Christine p.s. We, Tom and I, had to laugh, ... we did this fabulous year long house addition, and yet everyone still stayed in the kitchen! Jacqueline(Jackie) is at Camp Runels, this week as a Counselor in Training (CIT2) and Katie is there as a Day Camp Assistant (DCA) which makes me wonder.... would Evelina like to be a Girl Scout while she's here in Bedford Hanscom Girl Scouts & Bedford Bedford Hansom Girl Scouts on Facebook ... One of the cool things that Evelina might think about doing while she's here on Exchange is going to West Point Academy for the 5000 Scout Camporee. These are some of the photos I took on our trip. It was a once and a lifetime experience for my girls (and for me 3 yrs ago). We will definitely introduce Evelina to Mrs. Sarah Leshay who is a) amazing b) my girl's uber girl scout leader(with perri and andrea) c) a biology/science teacher at Bedford High School d) the director for camp runels e) the classroom where my daughter Jackie hangs out during advisory f) the teacher whose class is AKA (also known as) Jackie's locker :) Thank you Katie for swinging by the camp runels store to pick up a couple goodies for Evelina so she can "get her camp on" while she's at BHS. Christine p.s. Evelina connected with Tom Pinney on facebook recently. p.s.s. a rainy day at camp is better than a sunny day in the office. Here in the United States a meatball is many things...
From the: Top Ten Things You Need to Know About Sweden and the Swedish
Having a house guest coming is motivating us to continue making progress on our house projects. Tom is in the process of painting 13 doors (multiple coats/both sides). There's an a-door-able workshop set up in our new basement. Currently there are about 7 doors in the "shop".Katie and I decided that while folding laundry, we would like to also learn Swedish.
a) Do my girls clothes multiple by themselves? b) since I have to fold anyways, I might as well, make good use of my time! Watch out for the goat! http://www.sayitinswedish.com/ Tom Pinney, dad, June 29th birthday, works for Comcast in Chelmsford Ma. The youngest of 5 children, he was born and raised in Massachusetts. He keeps us all laughing with his songs(although we rarely know what he's singing) and his jokes. He is very involved around town, serving as chair on the Bedford Youth and Family services task force as well as the treasurer for the Bedford Hanscom Girl Scouts. He just recently retired as a member of the middle school advisory committee, serving with the principal staff, and 2 students.
Katie (katherine, born - can you guess? june ... 8th! - yes, we were all born in June) is 14 and will be a entering 9th grade and be freshmen at Bedford High School. Katie is a footballer (american soccer player) for her club team the Middlesex Phantoms. She is working hard to try out for the bedford high school fall soccer team. She participated in the school musical all three years in middle school(grades 6, 7, and 8) and had a lot of fun doing it! She is trained as a soccer referee, a day camp assistant and will be a member of the Interact club in the fall. She loves hello kitty, art, and animals and is very talkative and open to meeting new people.
